Welcome to GOAT Lab. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the game at playgoatlab.com and the GOAT Lab iOS app (together, the "Service"), operated by Momentum Apps LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
GOAT Lab is a free game for entertainment purposes, available on the web at playgoatlab.com and as the GOAT Lab iOS app. These Terms apply to both. You may play it for your own personal, non-commercial enjoyment. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
Where you use the iOS app, you also agree that: these Terms are between you and Momentum Apps LLC only, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
2. Eligibility (13+)
You must be at least 13 years old to use GOAT Lab, and to sign in or appear on the leaderboard. By using the Service you represent that you are 13 or older. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
3. Accounts, public leaderboards, and playing with others
Signing in with Google (or with Apple, in the iOS app) is optional and not required to play. If you sign in, you are responsible for activity under your account.
Several parts of GOAT Lab are public. Completing the Daily Challenge submits your score to a public leaderboard visible to all users — if you are signed in, under your display name; if you are not signed in, under an anonymous, auto-generated “Guest #####” name (which you cannot change). Career Mode results, XP and rank standings, weekly and seasonal boards, and Head-to-Head win/loss records are published to their own public boards in the same way. If you do not want a result of yours shown publicly, do not complete that mode.
Head-to-Head is played against other people. When you enter a match, start a rematch, or send a challenge link, your display name and your completed board are shown to your opponent. Finished matches get a shareable result link that anyone holding it can open to view the match, and challenge links you share may generate a link preview image containing your display name.
Friend leagues are shared spaces. A league’s name and its members’ display names and scores are visible to everyone in that league. You are responsible for any name or content you submit.
You agree not to submit offensive, misleading, or infringing display names or league names, not to impersonate anyone, and not to manipulate, falsify, or cheat scores, records, or leaderboard standings. We may remove entries, names, leagues, or accounts that violate these Terms, and may suspend or terminate access for repeated or serious violations. You may delete your account and data yourself at any time from your account settings, or request deletion by emailing support@playgoatlab.com.
4. Not affiliated with the NBA
GOAT Lab is an independent, fan-made game. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or associated with the National Basketball Association (NBA), its teams, or any player. All team names and player names are the property of their respective owners and are referenced for identification, commentary, and informational purposes only. Player ratings reflect our own subjective opinions and are not official statistics.
5. Intellectual property
The GOAT Lab name, logo, original design, code, and game mechanics are owned by Momentum Apps LLC. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission. Third-party names and marks referenced in the game remain the property of their respective owners.
6. Voluntary support / tips
The Service is free to play. You may optionally choose to support us through the "Support Us" link, which is processed by a third-party platform (Ko-fi). Tips are voluntary contributions to the creator and do not purchase, unlock, or guarantee any feature, content, or service. Tips are generally non-refundable except as required by the payment platform or applicable law.
7. GOAT Pass (optional purchase)
GOAT Lab is and will remain free to play. Every core feature — all game modes, the Daily Challenge, the global leaderboard, streaks, and scoring — is available to everyone at no cost and is never placed behind a paywall. The GOAT Pass is an optional, one-time purchase that unlocks extras and in-game boosts (such as a once-per-game ratings reveal in Blind and Daily modes, bonus XP on completed games, the ability to replay past Daily challenges as practice, a profile rank badge, an expanded personal stats page, your exact leaderboard rank, post-game build reveals, and a trophy case of achievements). It is never required to play, to compete, or to reach any score or tier. A separate, optional No-Ads unlock is also available, which removes advertising without the other GOAT Pass extras.
On the website, purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider (Stripe); we do not receive or store your full card details. In the iOS app, the same purchases are made through Apple’s In-App Purchase system, and refund requests for those purchases are handled by Apple under its own policies. A purchase belongs to your account rather than to one device, so a Pass bought on the website works in the app and vice versa. Because these purchases grant immediate access to digital content, they are generally non-refundable except where required by the payment provider, the app store, or applicable law. XP, ranks, badges, trophies, and similar in-game items have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may be adjusted, reset, or discontinued as the game changes.
8. Advertising
GOAT Lab displays ads served by Ezoic and its demand partners. By using the Service you acknowledge that ads may be shown and that Ezoic and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve personalized ads. A consent banner allows you to manage your advertising preferences. GOAT Pass holders and No-Ads unlock holders are not shown ads, and the iOS app shows no ads to anyone. 9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to disrupt, attack, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; (c) scrape, republish, or commercially exploit the Service or its content; or (d) misrepresent the Service as official or NBA-affiliated.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Player ratings and game content are provided for entertainment and may contain errors or omissions.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Momentum Apps LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You and Momentum Apps LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in a small-claims court where the claim qualifies.
14. General
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
